Happy Friday, San Francisco! Here is a selection of our top recommendations for things to do in the San Francisco Bay Area this coming weekend. We compile SF weekend plans every week. So there will always be anything to do on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Furthermore, this weekend is Labor Day, so you’re given an extra day off to check out interesting events in San Francisco or make a short journey through the Bay.

1. SF Fleet Week 

SF Fleet Week has started, meaning you may witness the famous Blue Angels soar over San Francisco this weekend. The celebrations feature a spectacular air show. A ship procession, ship tours, and more. Mark your calendars for one of San Francisco’s upcoming events, which lasts a week.

2. Italian Heritage Parade in North Beach

This weekend, the Italian Heritage Parade is taking over North Beach. The historical parade will start on Sunday, October 13th, featuring floats and an assortment of entertainers. And proceeds through the neighborhood of Columbus before ending at Washington Square.

3. Golden Gate Bridge

The fleet week includes more than airshows. Another popular event is the Parade of Ships under the Golden Gate Bridge. You may see an assortment of ships sail by as they arrive in San Francisco on Friday, October 11. You may watch the parade along the San Francisco coastline. With Marina Green and Crissy Field being popular viewing areas.

4. local artist’s studios

The SF Open Studios program is celebrating 50 years and is in full swing this weekend. This is the program’s final weekend. With an emphasis on the city’s eastern neighborhoods. The program allows you to visit local artists’ studios for free and learn more about the San Francisco art scene.

5. Ferry Building

This weekend, the Ferry Building will host a big vintage market with more than 70 dealers. October 13, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The fascinating show features ancient clothing, jewelry, textiles, and more. 

6. stunning rooftop restaurants

Summer is an excellent time to dine outdoors. San Francisco’s rooftop eateries include El Techo and Rooftop 25. And KAIYŌ Rooftop, are popular for its delicious food and cocktails.

7. Golden Gate Park Bandshell

The popular free performances have returned to Golden Gate Park’s Bandshell. The concert series features more than 100 free performances by diverse musicians. 

October 9: Singer/songwriter Wednesday

4-7 p.m.: Featuring Barb Murphy, The Quitters, and The Seagulls

On October 11, the Navy Band will play a special lunchtime concert from 12:00 to 12:45 p.m.

8. Hidden Beach in SF

San Francisco has several beautiful beaches, but this one is especially noteworthy. Marshall’s Beach is a private beach that offers a stunning view of the Golden Gate Bridge. The beach is only accessible by a short but gorgeous stroll that takes you via some old batteries along the shore.
